T0 SPONSOR DICK HOWSER TROPHY
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (NCBWA) – Russ Sloan, President of the Dick Howser Trophy which is presented annually to America’s best collegiate baseball player, has announced a new national sponsor. Verizon SuperPages and SuperPages.com have agreed to become a nationwide sponsor of America’s premier collegiate baseball award.

The Dick Howser Award was created under the auspices of the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce and first presented in 1987. The winner is selected by ballot of the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and formally presented at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb., with a follow-up presentation at the winner’s home campus in the fall.

Verizon officials will join the Dick Howser Committee officials at the Dick Howser Award presentation June 12th and 13th at the College World Series in Omaha.
