Wilkerson, Duran selected Division II Players of the Year Bookmark and Share
NCBWA ANNOUNCES 2009
DIVISION II ALL-AMERICA TEAM

DALLAS (NCBWA) – Seventeen standout players are featured on the first team of the 2009 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Division II All-America Team, the organization announced today.

Augusta State's Shannon Wilkerson was named NCBWA Division II Player of the Year, while Gabriel Duran of Dowling was chosen as the association's Pitcher of the Year. Dan O'Brien of UC San Diego was selected NCBWA Division II Coach of the Year. Wilkerson hit .441 with 24 homers and 82 runs batted in while Duran was 9-2 with a 1.45 ERA. O'Brien led his club to a 41-15 record and a No. 3 national ranking before losing in the national semifinals.
