NCBWA honors Div. II players for first time |
DIVISION II REGIONAL PLAYER AND PITCHER OF THE YEAR AWARDS |
CHICAGO (NBCWA) – The National Collegiate
Baseball Writers Association has announced its inaugural NCAA Division II Regional Player
and Pitcher of the Year Awards today, honoring the best position player and pitcher from
each of the eight regions that compete in collegiate baseball at the Divison II level.
Nomination and voting for the initial awards was conducted online by media and collegiate
members of the NCBWA.
The eight NCBWA/NCAA Division II Regional Players of the Year:
Junior Medina, Stonehill (Northeast)
Nathan Moore, Ashland (North Central)
Jason Manwaring, Mansfield (North Atlantic)
Chris Studer, South Dakota State (Central)
Kevin White, Presbyterian (South)
David Harriman, Armstrong Atlantic State (South Atlantic)
Will Carbonarra, Incarnate Word (South Central)
Mike Richardson, Sonoma State (West)
Earning the NCBWA/NCAA Division II Regional Pitcher of the Year awards:
Damien Myers, Concordia (Northeast)
Lenny Bays, Northern Kentucky (North Central)
Glen Woolard, Kutztown (North Atlantic)
Mike Peschel, North Dakota State (Central)
Enriques Baca, Lynn (South)
Matt Incinelli, North Florida (South Atlantic)
Matt Jansen, Alabama-Huntsville (South Central)
Greg Bruso, UC Davis (West)
Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball and
membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport.
