STANFORD HEADLINES
2002 NCBWA PRESEASON POLL
HOUSTON (NCBWA) – Stanford University headlines the 2002 National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association preseason poll, released by the organization today.

The Cardinal, who advanced to the College World Series in Omaha, Neb. last June, completed a clean sweep as the top-ranked team in each of the major preseason polls.

Voting on the weekly NCBWA poll is conducted by a select panel of the organization’s members. The first poll of the 2002 season has representation by several different conferences and top independents among the 279 baseball-playing schools in the NCAA Division I ranks.

Weekly polls will continue each Monday through the end of the College World Series.
