DALLAS (FWAA) – With their 49-14 win over previously unbeaten Wisconsin, the Michigan State Spartans are the FedEx Orange Bowl National Team of the Week, as selected by the pollsters of the FWAA's Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll for games of the weekend of Nov. 13.

The Spartans (5-5) scored the game's final 35 points and finished with 551 total yards against a Wisconsin defense that came into the game allowing just 9.1 points per game.

Jehuu Caulcrick ran for 146 yards and a score and Jason Teague added 112 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Teague also caught a 30-yard touchdown pass from wide receiver Aaron Alexander.

Other FedEx Orange Bowl National Team of the Week nominees for the weekend of Nov. 13 included:

Auburn (10-0): Quarterback Jason Campbell was 18-for-22 for 188 yards and a score and Carnell Williams ran for 102 yards and threw a touchdown pass as the Tigers hammered Georgia, 24-6.

Boston College (7-2): Phil Brady returned two punts for touchdowns as the Eagles upset West Virginia, 36-17, in Morgantown.

San Jose State (2-7): The Spartans battled unbeaten Boise State into overtime before losing, 56-49.

Texas (9-1): Vince Young ran for a touchdown and passed for another in the final five minutes as the Longhorns rallied past Kansas, 27-23, in Lawrence.

The FWAA has named a national team of the week since the 2002 season. This is the first season that the award has been sponsored by the FedEx Orange Bowl.

The 16 pollsters of the Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll decide the weekly honor. Each Monday during the 2004 college football season, the FWAA will name the FedEx Orange Bowl National Team of the Week through Nov. 29. This season, FedEx Orange Bowl will match the two top-ranked teams in the final BCS standings. It will be played at Miami's Pro Player Stadium on Jan. 4, 2005.

The Grantland Rice Super 16 Poll has resumed this season and will be released each Monday. The top-ranked team in the final poll will be awarded the Grantland Rice Trophy as the FWAA's national champion. The FWAA has awarded the trophy each season since 1954.
