ATLANTA (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association
(NCBWA) released its Division III National Hitter and Pitcher of the Week
awards for the period ending March 21.
East Texas Baptist University's James Morgan was named National
Hitter of the Week, while Kenyon (Ohio) College's Chris Lynn was
named National Pitcher of the Week. The NCBWA reviews candidates from each
Division III conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout
the season.
Morgan batted .722 (13-for-18) in five games last week, including four
multi-hit games. The junior third baseman was 8-for-11 (.727) with seven
runs, two doubles and four RBI in a three-game sweep of Austin (Texas) College.
Morgan's best game came in the series finale when he went 4-for-4 with a
double and three RBI in an 11-4 win. He is the Tigers' season leader in
hits, home runs and RBI. Morgan also was the Hitter of the Week in the American
Southwest Conference.

in both contests, allowing three hits and one run in each game. In a 3-1
