NCBWA NAMES DIVISION II
NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on February 17. North Greenville University (S.C.) infielder John Michael Faile is the National Hitter of the Week, while Missouri Southern State senior junior pitcher Will Bausinger is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Faile (Boiling Springs, S.C./Boiling Springs HS) had a monster week as he collected six hits, including three home runs and a double, while driving in 13 runs and scoring three times. He hit .750 for the week and had at least four RBI in all three games in a 2-1 series win over Nova Southeastern. His week was highlighted by a two-homer, four-RBI day in the 10-1 victory in game two. He tallied a home run and drove in five in the series finale.

Bausinger (St. Louis, Mo./Marquette HS) pitched a perfect game no-hitter in a 9-0 win over Washburn. Bausinger was outstanding on the bump with 17 strikeouts in nine innings, facing 27 batters. It was the first perfect game in Missouri Southern State history.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Howser Award Player of the Year, Regional Player of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication and writing contests.
