Hawkeye sophomore has 23 tackles in win over Indiana
SANDERS NAMED BRONKO NAGURSKI
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (FWAA) – Iowa defensive back Bob Sanders was named the Bronko Nagurski Defensive Player of the Week on Monday by a panel of FWAA members.

The FWAA (Football Writers Association of America) and the Charlotte Touchdown Club pick a Defensive Player of the Week each Monday during the regular season. Sanders will be added to the Watch List for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy which will be presented on Dec. 10 in Charlotte, N.C., by the FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.

Sanders, a sophomore, made 23 tackles, including 14 unassisted, in the Hawkeyes’ 42-28 victory over Indiana. It was his career-best day and the fourth-highest single game tackle total in Iowa history. His 25 tackles are the best single-game performance in the Big Ten this season.
