Walker returned two interceptions for touchdowns, highlighting Kansas State's strong defensive
performance. He picked off a Seneca Wallace pass on the Cyclones' second play from scrimmage in the
second half, and returned it 45 yards for a touchdown. On the second play of Iowa State's next
possession, Walker again picked off a pass from Wallace and went 26 yards for the touchdown. The two
returns by Walker came 23 seconds apart and turned a 30-7 halftime lead into a 44-7 edge for the 'Cats.
Walker's two interceptions for touchdowns marked the first time in Kansas State history a player has
had two picks for scores in a single game. Walker is the only player in NCAA Division I-A this season
to accomplish this feat. He also had three tackles and knocked down two other passes in the game.
A three-person panel from the Football Writers Association of America (FWAA) selects the
winner of the weekly award.
The FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club pick a National Defensive Player of the Week each
Monday. Walker will be added to the Watch List for the Bronko Nagurski Trophy which will be presented
on Dec. 9 in Charlotte, N.C., by the FWAA and the Charlotte Touchdown Club.
