NEVADA IS TOSTITOS FIESTA
BOWL NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (FWAA) – With their 34-31 win over No. 4 Boise State, the Nevada Wolf Pack (11-1) is the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week for games of the weekend of Nov. 27.

Anthony Martinez nailed a 34-yard field goal in overtime to complete a comeback from a 24-7 second-half deficit against the Broncos, who saw their 24-game winning streak end.

Colin Kaepernick threw for 259 yards and a touchdown and ran for 45 yards and a score. His 18-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter ignited the rally and a seven-yard scoring pass to Rishard Matthews tied the game with 13 seconds left in regulation. Vai Taua added 132 yards on the ground and a touchdown for the Wolf Pack.

"It is the greatest victory this university has ever had, I can tell you that," Nevada head coach Chris Ault said after the game.

Other Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week nominees for the weekend of Nov. 27 included:

Auburn (11-1): Cam Newton threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score as the Tigers completed a stunning comeback – rallying from a 24-0 hole – to beat No. 11 Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

SMU (7-5): The Mustangs won their first-ever Conference USA Western Division crown with a 45-38 overtime win at East Carolina. Kyle Padron threw three touchdown passes and Zach Line ran for 123 yards and the winning score in overtime.

The Football Writers Association of America has named a national team of the week since the 2002 season. This is the seventh season that the award has been sponsored by the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl.

Members of the FWAA All-America Committee decide the weekly honor. Each remaining Monday during the 2010 college football regular season, the FWAA has named the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl National Team of the Week. This is the final selection for the 2010 season.

Founded in 1971, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl has hosted six games that have decided the college football national championship, including three Bowl Championship Series title games. This season, the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl will host the Tostitos BCS National Championship Game on Jan. 10, 2011 at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz. The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl will be played on Jan. 1, 2011 in Glendale and the Insight Bowl will be played on Dec. 28, 2010 at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, Ariz.
