NCBWA NAMES DIVISION II
NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its fourth weekly NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards of the 2015 season for the week ending on March 8. Azusa Pacific's senior first basemen/outfielder Jordan Brower is the National Hitter of the Week while Franklin Pierce's sophomore pitcher Mike Lundin is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Brower (Newbury Park, Calif.) was unstoppable in APU's series with Point Loma, hitting .688 (11-16) with six doubles and six RBI. He posted a 1.063 slugging percentage and only struck out twice. He had multiple hits in each game, including a 3-for-3 performance in the finale, and drove in two runs in each of the final three games. Brower leads the PacWest in doubles (14) and is second in RBI (24), third in hits (34) and fourth in batting average (.430).

Lundin (Kingston, Mass.) threw a no-hitter in seven innings in his start last week. He faced just 23 batters and struck out 11 in the 84-pitch (59 strikes), shutout effort against Queens on Sunday afternoon. He walked none in the no-hitter.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Howser Award Player of the Year, Regional Player of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication and writing contests.
