Jimi Keating were named Division III
National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association Hitter and
Pitcher of the Week for the period of April 10-16.
Hetherington, an outfielder from Crystal Lake, Ill., batted
.875 (7-for-8) with six runs, one double, two home runs, six RBI
and a 1.750 slugging percentage for the Pioneers last week. The
Collegiate Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin Hitter of the
Week started both games of a double header against North Central
on April 15 as he went 3-for-4 with two runs in a 7-2 loss in
game one. In game two, he was 4-for-4 with four runs, six RBI
and two home runs in a 17-7 victory.
Keating, a right-handed starter from Bardstown, Ky., led the
Golden Eagles to a 1-0 win over St. Louis Intercollegiate
Athletic Conference power Webster University April 15. The SLIAC
Pitcher of the Week worked nine scoreless innings, allowing just
four hits while striking out 13 and walking only one batter.
Honorable Mention Hitters: Anthony Crowley
(So., OF, Westfield State): Batted .625 (10-16) with a double,
three triples, two home runs, 10 runs scored and 12 RBI with a
.714 on-base percentage and 1.438 slugging percentage in a 5-0
week for the Owls. Went 3-for-3 with a triple, RBI and three
runs scored in the 11-0 win over Framingham State and drew three
walks with a run scored and two stolen bases in the game two 7-1
win over Framingham State. Went 4-for-4 with a double, home run
and six RBI in the 18-1 win over Elms College and 2-for-4 with a
triple, home run, three RBI and two runs scored in the 10-3
victory over Coast Guard; Chris Common (So., OF,
Pitt-Greensburg): Put together an impressive week at the plate,
batting .579, with three home runs, 15 RBI, and five extra
base-hits. Common hit for the cycle in the first game of the
doubleheader against Chatham, driving in seven RBI, which ranks
second most in UPG history for RBI in a single game. He ended
the week slugging a walk-off home run to give Pitt-Greensburg
the comeback 6-5 win over Penn State Behrend, which was the
first sweep for the Bobcats over the Lions since 2004.
Honorable Mention Pitchers: Caleb Boushley
(Sr., RHP, UW-La Crosse): Improved to 4-2 on the season after
earning a 5-0 win at Wis.-Oshkosh on April 13. He pitched his
fourth complete-game of the season, going 9.0 innings, allowing
four hits and one walk, while striking out a career-high 12. It
was his second career shutout. With the win, Boushley increased
his career mark to 19-4 and tied the program record of 19
victories held by Ben Cejka (2012-15); Brad Margolin (Sr.,
RHP, Washington [Mo.]): Tossed a two-hit shutout with one walk
and five strikeouts to lead the Bears to a 1-0 win over host
Case Western Reserve University in the first game of a four-game
series. The shutout was his second consecutive in UAA play and
raised his season record to 6-0, while recording his 20th career
win.

college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and
publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory,
newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Player
of the Year Award, Regional Player of the Year and NCBWA All-America
voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication
and writing contests.
