TEXAS A&M IS REVEAL SUITS NATIONAL TEAM OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (FWAA) – The Texas A&M Aggies rolled up 543 total yards against No. 4 Florida, and a field goal as time expired gave them a 41-38 win, their first win over a top-five team since 2014 to earn the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Oct. 10, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

This is the sixth time for Texas A&M to earn the Team of the Week honor and first since 2014. All Division I FBS and FCS schools are eligible to be selected. This is the 19th season for the FWAA to award a Team of the Week.

In a game in which quarterback Kellen Mond became A&M's all-time leader in career passing yards – his 338 yards upped his career total to 8,224 – it was sophomore running back Isaiah Spiller's 174 rushing yards and sophomore wide receiver Caleb Chapman's 151 receiving yards that did the most damage. The Aggies had never had a 150-yard rusher and 150-yard receiver in the same game prior to Saturday.

Mond's 51-yard touchdown pass to Chapman with 4:30 to go rallied the Aggies to a 38-38 tie. Florida was driving when Buddy Johnson forced a fumble recovered by A&M. That set up an eight-play, 40-yard drive ending in Seth Small's 26-yard field goal to win it. Texas A&M was 12-of-15 on third-down conversions in the game.

The win was A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher's first over a top-five program in his three seasons there, the Aggies' first over a top-five program since toppling No. 3 Auburn in 2014, and the first such win at Kyle Field since beating No. 1 Oklahoma in 2002.

The Aggies play at Mississippi State on Saturday.

The other National Team of the Week nominee for the weekend of Oct. 10 is:

Missouri (1-2): Mizzou's defense limited LSU to 49 rushing yards and used a last-minute goal-line stand to top the defending national champions, 45-41, and give head coach Eliah Drinkwitz his first win at the school. In the final minute at the Missouri one-yard line, the Tigers defense stuffed two runs for no gain, then broke up back-to-back passes to seal the win. Missouri posted 586 total offense yards – 406 through the air in quarterback Connor Bazelak's second career start – and its 45 points were the most scored against LSU in 13 seasons.
