DALLAS (FWAA) – The Army West Point Black Knights shut out rival Navy for the first time since 1969 in a rare home game during the vaunted series and took their eighth win of the season with a 15-0 win. The Black Knights held Midshipmen to just 117 yards of total offense and held the ball for 35:16 and have earned the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Dec. 12, as selected by the Football Writers Association of America.

This is the second time for Army (8-2) to earn the Team of the Week honor, the other coming in 2004. All Division I FBS and FCS schools are eligible to be selected. This is the 19th season for the FWAA to award a Team of the Week and this is the final selection of the 2020 season.

The game at historic and on this day foggy Michie Stadium marked the first time since 1943 that the Army-Navy Game was played on campus. A crowd of 12,722 fans – 8,800 of them from the Corps of Cadets and the Brigade of Midshipmen – watched as Army's defense led the way to a fourth win in its last five games against Navy and its ninth straight home win.

Army's defense yielded only 108 rushing yards and nine through the air, 52 of which came on a first-quarter run to the Black Knights' 2-yard line. Army held there on four downs to set the tone, and the defense even got on the scoreboard early in the fourth quarter when linebacker Daryan McDonald tackled Navy's Mark Walker for a 14-yard loss in the end zone to score a safety and a 12-0 lead.

Navy gained only two first downs in the second half. Fellow linebackers Amadeo West and Arik Smith led the Black Knights with nine tackles each, both career highs.

Quarterback Tyhier Tyler accounted for 124 of the Black Knights' 134 total yards, running 96 yards on 26 keepers and passing for 28.

Army wraps up its regular season Saturday hosting Air Force at 3 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network in a game that will determine the Commander In Chief Trophy winner. Army, which last won the CIC in 2017 and '18, is 7-0 at home this season and 23-2 at Michie Stadium since the start of the 2017 season. Air Force has won 14 of its last 18 and is 14-11 all-time playing at Army.

The Black Knights have already accepted a bid to the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl, their fourth bowl game in five seasons. Army has won its last three bowl games in that span.

The other National Team of the Week nominees for the weekend of Dec. 12 are:

• LSU (4-5): Cade York's 57-yard field goal with 23 seconds left gave the Tigers a 37-34 win at Florida, finishing the last of six lead changes and a combined 1,000 yards of offense underneath the fog at The Swamp. LSU's defense started the night with a goal-line stand, forced three first-half turnovers including a touchdown, and Max Johnson threw for 239 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

• North Carolina (8-3): Running backs Michael Carter and Javonte Williams set an NCAA record by combining for 544 yards as UNC ran all over Miami on the road, 62-26. Carter ran for 308 yards and two TD's with Williams adding 236 yards and three TD's, the first since 2016 and the first time in ACC history for two teammates to both surpass 200 yards. It also broke a NCAA record only two weeks old for combined rushing yards, topping Buffalo's Jaret Patterson (409) and Kevin Marks (97) from a win on Nov. 30. UNC's 778 total yards were a school record and the most ever given up by Miami.

• San Jose State (6-0): The Spartans qualified for their conference championship game for the first time with a 30-20 win over Nevada. A 98-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Shamar Garrett on the second half kickoff started the rally from a 13-point deficit, another bright spot in San Jose State's first winning season since 2012 and its seventh consecutive win dating back to last season. Nick Starkel threw for 306 yards and a pair of TD's.
