DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball
Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls
for the 23rd year with its 2020 weekly surveys and after the fifth
and final week of the season due to COVID-19, Florida remained No.
1 for the third-straight week, followed by UCLA at No. 2 and Miami
at No. 3.
Florida remained No. 1 for the third-straight week, followed
by UCLA who moved up to No. 2 from No. 4 and Miami rounded out the
top three, making a big jump from No. 7 to No. 3.
The sole newcomer to the top 10 was Oklahoma at No. 10, jumping
up two spots from 12.
Overall, the top 10 consists of four SEC schools, two ACC programs,
two from the Pac-12 and two from the Big 12.
The biggest risers this week included Oklahoma State, who jumped
up five spots, from receiving votes to No. 27 after and Clemson,
who also improved five spots from No. 25 to No. 20.
The 2020 poll voters come from among 35 college baseball writers
and related media persons from throughout the nation. After a preseason
Top 35 listing, the remainder of the polls featured a national Top
30 beginning with the Feb. 17 NCBWA DI survey.
The current survey has representation by eight different conferences
among the 300 baseball-playing schools in the 2020 NCAA Division

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of
college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and
publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory,
newsletter updates and official votes in the Dick Howser Trophy,
Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA
also sponsors Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the
Year, and publication and writing contests.
