OKLAHOMA CONTINUES RUN
ATOP GRANTLAND RICE SUPER 16

DALLAS (FWAA) – Unbeaten Oklahoma once again received each of the Grantland Rice Super 16 first-place votes to keep its stronghold on the No. 1 spot in the poll. The Sooners, the preseason favorite, have received every first place vote in each of the FWAA's seven regular-season polls.

USC and LSU remained at 2-3 in the poll and Michigan, which toppled Ohio State, climbed to No. 4. LSU is among five SEC schools in the Super 16. Michigan leads a cast of four Big Ten teams in the FWAA rankings this week.

Washington State and TCU each dropped out of the poll this week while Iowa, Kansas State and Miami (Ohio) entered the rankings. Miami (Ohio) makes its first appearance in the Super 16 this season with a 10-1 mark.

The Wolverines, after holding on to defeat arch-rival Ohio State, 35-21, in the 100th renewal of that rivalry, are the FWAA's National Team of the Week. Washington, which upset Washington State, 27-19, to win the Apple Cup and Tulsa, which topped San Jose State, 34-32, to complete its season at 8-4 after going 1-11 in 2002, were the other nominees this week
