NCBWA NAMES PRO-LINE ATHLETIC
NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released the Pro-Line Athletic National Player of the Week awards for the period ending March 21.

Morris Kaufman
Pro-Line Athletic: The Choice of Champions.

Auburn junior infielder Hunter Morris was named National Hitter of the Week, while South Florida senior lefthander Teddy Kaufman was named National Pitcher of the Week. The NCBWA Board reviews candidates from each Division I Conference each week and names winners each Tuesday throughout the season.

Morris hit .625 (10-for-16) with a double and four home runs during the series sweep at Georgia. He drove in 14 runs during the three-game series, including a team-high nine on Friday. The Huntsville, Ala., native had a 1.438 slugging percentage on the weekend and also had two stolen bases. Morris was 4-for-6 with five RBIs on Friday and 5-for-6 with nine RBIs on Sunday. His four home runs on the weekend gives him 31 for his career, which is 10th all-time at Auburn.

Kaufman pitched nine innings in a 4-0 win over UCF on March 16. The Miami, Fla., native struck out a Big East-high 14 batters, while allowing only four hits and two walks. He is one of only four Big East pitchers to pitch nine innings in a game this season and the first to record a shutout victory in a complete-game outing.

Pro-Line Athletic, owned by Badger Sport, supplies the cap and uniforms to several Division I college teams. This is the sixth season Pro-Line has sponsored the NCBWA's Players of the Week. The sponsorship provides for plaques to be awarded to each of the weekly winners and other promotional consideration.
