NCBWA NAMES DIVISION II
NATIONAL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on Feb. 16. Pittsburg State sophomore first baseman Andrew Vogelbaugh is the National Hitter of the Week while Lubbock Christian lefty Guillaume Blanchette is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Andrew Vogelbaugh (Liberty, Mo.) hit .500 and drove in 11 runs in a four-game series as Pittsburg State took three of four games from Minnesota-Duluth. He collected seven extra base hits – three doubles and four home runs – among his eight hits in the series. He belted a school record tying three home runs in a 9-8 victory over the Bulldogs Saturday (Feb. 20). Vogelbaugh's final HR of the game gave Pitt State a walk off victory. He also went 2-for-4 with a double, HR and five RBI in an 18-9 loss earlier in the day Saturday. For the season, Vogelbaugh is hitting .563 with 14 runs scored, four doubles, six home runs and 16 RBI in eight games.

Guillaume Blanchette (St-Constant, Quebec) had an impressive outing in a 6-1 win over No.9 Angelo State, pitching his second career complete game and first one-hitter. Blanchette had a no-hitter through five innings and it came to an end in the sixth inning off a lead-off single. The Chaps pitcher revenged the hit by picking off the runner and retiring the final 11 batters faced. Blanchette, who allowed no earned runs, faced 31 batters and fanned six in the complete game.
