DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association released its NCAA Division II National Players of the Week awards for the week ending on March 1. Arkansas-Fort Smith's redshirt senior designated hitter Blaise Warrick is the National Hitter of the Week while Southern New Hampshire junior pitcher Ben Criscuolo is the National Pitcher of the Week.

Warrick (Longview, Texas) batted .500 (9 for 18) with five home runs and 12 RBIs. He scored seven times, compiled a 1.333 percent slugging percentage and a 0.526 on-base percentage during the Diamond Lions' six-game Rocky Mountain road trip. Warrick hit two home runs and drove in four runs during the Diamond Lions' 5-2 win against Regis in the opening game of that five-game series.

Criscuolo (Branford, Conn.) tossed a no-hitter Saturday in a 14-0 victory against Nyack. Criscuolo (1-0) punched out 15, walked none and struck out the side three times during his masterful performance.

Founded in 1962, the NCBWA is dedicated to the advancement of college baseball. Membership is open to writers, broadcasters and publicists of the sport. Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Howser Award Player of the Year, Regional Player of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors preseason All-America awards, publication and writing contests.
