DALLAS (NCBWA) – Five teams picked up at least
one first place vote in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers
Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25 this week, but it was Colorado
Mesa that hung on to the top spot in the ranking for the second-straight
week.
The Mavericks hung on to the No. 1 position despite splitting
four games over the weekend at Colorado-Colorado Springs. Four other
teams – Tampa, UC San Diego, St. Cloud State and North Greenville
– were awarded at least one first place vote this week as well.
Three teams returned to the poll after short absences this week,
including Ashland (No. 17) and Nova Southeastern (No. 23). Columbus
State is back in the top 25 for the first time since attaining a
No. 3 ranking in the preseason edition of the ranking.
