DALLAS (NCBWA) – Colorado Mesa picked up 11
first-place votes to solidify its perch atop the ranking and the
top eight teams remained the same in this week's National Collegiate
Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Top 25.
The Mavericks, who captured the top spot in last week's national
ranking by a single point, went 3-1 on the baseball diamond last
week on the way to a home series win over Colorado Christian. Newberry
(No. 9 ) made the biggest move of any of the top 25 teams this week
when it jumped seven spots and into the top 10 for the first time
with a road series sweep of Wingate.
Three new teams entered the ranking this week, including Lubbock
Christian (No. 23) who makes its first NCBWA Top 25 appearance since
the 2018 preseason poll. Mount Olive (No. 24) re-enters the listing
after a one-week absence, while Millersville (No. 25) returns for
the first time since being ranked among the top 10 (No. 9) in the
preseason poll.
