"We
had the best response ever from the membership for the
writing contest," said USBWA Executive Director Joe
Mitch. "Not only did we have a record number of entries
but we had more women enter the contest than ever
before."
The top five finishers in each category receive a plaque
and a cash prize for their winning entries. First place
is awarded $150, second place $125, third place $100,
fourth place $75 and fifth place $50.
The
Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in
Springfield, Mass., serves as sponsor of the writing
contest. "The Hall of Fame has been with us as a sponsor
for many years now," said Mitch. "We are grateful to
John Doleva (President and CEO of the Hall of Fame) and
his staff for their generosity and support of the
USBWA." |
