DALLAS (FWAA) – The LSU Tigers went into Austin and stole their first non-conference road win over an AP Top-10 team in program history, airing it out with 573 total yards in a 45-38 shootout over No. 9 Texas. The primetime win earned the Tigers (2-0) the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Sept. 7.

This is the fourth time for LSU to win the Team of the Week honors and its first since 2014 when the Tigers knocked off then-No. 3 Ole Miss.

The announcement came on "Playbook” on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM. Each Monday during the season the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week will be unveiled during the program, which airs weekdays from 1-4 p.m. ET. The FWAA's All-America Committee selects the weekly winner and all Division I FBS and FCS schools are eligible to be selected.

It was a record-setting night for LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, who finished 31-of-39 passing and the second-highest passing total in school history with 471 yards to go with four touchdowns. The Tigers also had three receivers – Justin Jefferson, Ja’Marr Chase and Terrace Marshall Jr. – post more than 100 yards in a single game for the first time in program history. Running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire led LSU in rushing with 87 yards on 15 carries.

LSU trailed only once at 7-3 in the first quarter, and had two goal-line stands in the first quarter that set the tone, stopping Texas on downs twice inside its 2-yard line. The Tigers also had five sacks.

"Five out of five in the red zone ... Proud of our football team," LSU head coach Ed Orgeron said. "Man, what an epic battle. Proud of Cade York going out there and making those field goals. Proud of the defense making that goal line stand. We don't stop them on the goal line we're dead. That's the difference in the ballgame."

The other National Team of the Week nominees for the weekend of Sept. 7 were:

• California (2-0): Following a lightning and weather delay that lasted into the morning hours, Cal kicker Greg Thomas booted a 17-yard field goal with eight seconds left to post a 20-19 road win over No. 14 Washington. The Bears won the showdown of two of the country’s top defenses and stole their second consecutive win over the Huskies following a delay of more than two-and-a-half hours.

• Maryland (2-0): The Terrapins jumped all over No. 21 Syracuse early, racking up 397 yards and 42 first-half points in a 63-20 dismantling of the Orange. Josh Jackson threw for 296 yards and three touchdowns and Anthony McFarland Jr. had three combined touchdowns. Maryland’s 63 points set a school record against a ranked opponent, and the Terps have scored 142 points in their first two games. They are 2-0 for a fourth consecutive season.

• USC (2-0): Kedon Slovis broke the USC record for most yards by a true freshman quarterback in his debut with 377 passing yards and three touchdowns as the Trojans slammed No. 23 Stanford, 45-20. Slovis was 28-of-33 as USC rallied from an early 14-point deficit. Amon-Ra St. Brown had eight catches for 97 yards and two touchdowns and Vavae Malepeai rushed for two touchdowns in a 492-yard performance by coordinator Graham Harrell's Air Raid offense.

The Football Writers Association of America has named a national team of the week since the 2002 season. In addition to the members of the FWAA All-America Committee, one fan vote from Twitter decides the weekly honor.
