DALLAS (FWAA) – The Kansas State Wildcats rallied from two 10-point deficits in the first quarter and upset Oklahoma, 48-41, to stay in the race for a spot in the Big 12 Conference championship. For beating the Sooners at home for the first time since 1996, Kansas State (5-2) earned the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week honor for games of the weekend of Oct. 26.

The announcement came on "Playbook" on ESPNU Radio on SiriusXM. Each Monday during the season the Reveal Suits National Team of the Week will be unveiled during the program, which airs weekdays from 1-4 p.m. ET. The FWAA's All-America Committee selects the weekly winner and all Division I FBS and FCS schools are eligible to be selected.

This is the fifth time for Kansas State to win the FWAA's National Team of the Week honor and the first time since 2017.

Kansas State trailed 10-0 and 17-7 in the first quarter before scoring on eight consecutive possessions. The first three were each scoring drives of 10 or more plays that consumed 15:45 off the clock and kept Oklahoma’s high-powered offense off the field. The Wildcats scored 14 points off Oklahoma's two turnovers.

The Wildcats rushed for 213 yards led by James Gilbert's 105-yard total. Quarterback Skylar Thompson ran for a career-high four touchdowns to go with an 18-for-28 throwing day for another 213 yards as Thompson connected with nine different receivers.

"I don't know if it has really fully hit me yet, to be honest. I've just been at a loss for words," said Thompson, a junior. "I was sitting at my locker kind of just thinking about what we just did and how we did it. It's a special moment for me in my life, but I know for Kansas State and the history, it'll go down as a game people will remember forever. Just the thought of me being a part of it, a small part of it, is something I'm truly grateful for."

The other National Team of the Week nominees for the weekend of Oct. 26 were:

• Michigan (6-2): The Wolverines rushed for 303 yards and posted the third-largest margin of victory in this series with a 45-14 pasting of Notre Dame. Michigan reeled off 28 unanswered points in the second half and Hassan Haskins had a career day, rushing 20 times for 149 yards.

• TCU (4-3): The Horned Frogs beat Texas for the fifth time in their last six games as Max Duggan threw for a career-high 273 yards with a pair of touchdowns in a 37-27 win. TCU had four interceptions in the game, its most in a regular-season game since a matching four at Texas in 2014. Ar'Darius Washington's interception led to a Duggan touchdown throw that gave TCU its first lead at 27-20 in the third quarter.

• USC (5-3): The Trojans earned their first road win of the season when Kedon Slovis threw a 37-yard touchdown pass to Michael Pittman Jr. with 2:12 left. Rallying from a 31-21 deficit in the fourth quarter kept USC’s unbeaten streak against Colorado alive, extending its record to 14-0 all-time against the Buffaloes. Pittman finished with 156 yards on seven catches and Slovis completed 30 of 44 passes for 406 yards.

The Football Writers Association of America has named a national team of the week since the 2002 season. In addition to the members of the FWAA All-America Committee, one fan vote from Twitter decides the weekly honor.
