ST. LOUIS (USBWA) – Lucas Hausman of Bowdoin College (Brunswick, Maine) and Sydney Moss of Thomas More College (Crestview Hills, Ky.) were named the U.S. Basketball Writers Association Division III National Players of the Week for the week ending Feb. 15.

Hausman, a 6-3 junior guard from Westport, Conn., averaged 30.0 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists to lead Bowdoin (17-7, 7-3) to a 2-0 week and the second-seed (highest finish in program history) in the upcoming New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Tournament. He shot 68.4 percent (26-of-38) from the field, 57.1 percent (4-of-7) from three-point range and 80 percent (4-of-5) from the foul line. On Friday, in a 98-70 win over Bates College (18-5, 7-3), Hausman tied the Polar Bears' school record with 44 points on 20-of-25 shooting from the field and 4-of-4 from three-point range while adding four rebounds and four assists. His 20 made field goals were also a program record. Hausman followed that up with a game-best 16 points (6-of-13 FG, 4-of-4 FT) in a 57-54 victory against Tufts University (13-11, 6-4) on Saturday. He added seven rebounds and a steal for Bowdoin, which is now receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll.

Moss, a 5-10 junior guard/forward from St. Albans, W. Va., averaged 30.0 points, 9.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists, 2.0 steals, and 1.5 blocks in a pair of Presidents' Athletic Conference (PAC) wins. She shot 47.6 percent (20-of-42) from the field, 45.4 percent (5-of-11) from three-point range and 75 percent (15-of-20) from the foul line to help keep Thomas More undefeated (23-0, 16-0) and ranked No. 1 in the D3hoops.com Top-25 Poll. On Wednesday, Moss had 17 points, seven assists, five rebounds, two steals, and two blocks in a 90-40 win over Geneva College (4-19, 2-14). She followed that on Saturday with a season-high 43 points (14-for-26 FG, 4-for-9 3FG, 11-14 FT) – the fourth-highest single-game total in NCAA Division III this season – in a 91-70 win vs. Washington & Jefferson College (17-6, 11-5). Moss, the daughter of former NFL wide receiver Randy Moss, also had 13 rebounds, five assists, two steals, and a block in recording her seventh double-double of the season. The Saints have now won 65-straight conference games.

Each Tuesday, the USBWA is selecting men's and women's Division III National Players of the Week. This is the first season that the USBWA will recognize national players of the week from Division III.

The U.S. Basketball Writers Association was formed in 1956 at the urging of then-NCAA Executive Director Walter Byers.
