DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association
continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the eighth year with
its 2005 weekly surveys. Weekly polls will continue each Monday through
June 28, following the NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb.
The Tulane Green Wave took two of three from South Florida to
get back to No. 1 in the NCBWA poll. Texas, top-ranked for four straight
weeks, dropped a Tuesday game to Texas State before winning two of three
from Missouri and fell to No. 2. Cal State Fullerton stayed hot with its
third straight three-game weekend sweep, this one over UCSB. Nebraska
moved up to a season-high No. 4 as the Big 12 sports three of the
nation's top ten teams.
