Nebraska jumps over Big 12 foe Texas to No. 3
TULANE STILL NO. 1 IN NCBWA POLL

DALLAS (NCBWA) – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association continues its tradition of NCAA Division I polls for the eighth year with its 2005 weekly surveys. Weekly polls will continue each Monday through June 28, following the NCAA World Series in Omaha, Neb.

The Tulane Green Wave swept a weekend series from Memphis to retain the top ranking in the NCBWA Top 35 Poll. Cal State Fullerton, headed to the White House on Friday as the defending national champions, won two of three from Cal Poly to move up to No. 2. Nebraska took two of three from Missouri to jump over Texas to No. 3. The Huskers will play Creighton at Omaha's Johnny Rosenblatt Stadium on Tuesday. Texas fell to No. 4 after losing two of three at Kansas, while Miami stayed put at No. 5.

Members receive a membership card, directory, newsletter updates and official votes in the Xanthus Dick Howser Trophy, Regional Players of the Year and NCBWA All-America voting. The NCBWA also sponsors the Pro-Line Cap Division I Players of the Week, the Stopper of the Year, and publication and writing contests.
